Quickstart
This guide gets you up and running quickly and sets a solid data foundation for deeper exploration. You can take your first technical improvement actions within minutes, and your initial AI visibility insights will be available within 24 to 48 hours.
Add Your First Brand
After creating your workspace, add your brand:
- Enter your website URL (for example,
https://yourcompany.com) - Asky automatically analyzes your website to extract:
- Brand name
- Industry
- Description
- Key features
- Target audience
This analysis usually takes 10 to 30 seconds and provides the foundation for your AI search monitoring. You can adjust the suggested details afterwards.
Set Up Your First Topics
Topics define the core areas you want your company to be known for. They represent the themes, problem spaces, or product categories where you want AI search engines to recognize your brand as relevant.
Topics do two things:
- They structure the prompts used to measure your AI visibility
- They form the foundation for building topic authority, the areas where you want AI to consistently recognize your brand as a credible source
Examples:
- Decision automation platform
- Expense reimbursement management
- Sugar-free energy drinks
We suggest an initial set of topics. Review and adapt them to fit your business. You can add or change topics at any time.
Set Up Your First Prompts
Prompts are the questions you want your brand to be found for in AI search. They reflect how real users ask about solutions, products, or problems in conversational search.
Based on the topics you defined, we automatically generate an initial set of prompts. Review them and adjust as needed to match how your audience really searches.
Quick tip: Take a query from Google Search Console and rephrase it as a natural, question-based prompt.
Examples:
- What is the best HR software for small and mid-sized companies?
- What is a healthy alternative to energy drinks?
- What is the best online store for sustainable clothing?
You can add, edit, or refine prompts at any time.
Identify Your Competitors
Add competitors to benchmark your AI visibility against them. This shows which brands appear in AI answers for the prompts you track, and where you are gaining or losing ground.
Based on your brand analysis, we suggest an initial set of competitors. We keep recommending more over time, which you can accept in the Competitors tab of your Brand Profile, and you can also add competitors manually.
Important: Use the shortest unique brand name, such as “Trade Republic”, rather than variations like “traderepublic.com” or “Trade Republic UK”. That is exactly what is tracked.
If a brand has common alternative spellings, add them as aliases so they are recognized and attributed correctly, for example “TradeRepublic” without a space.
View Your Results
Your Dashboard gives you an overview of your AI visibility.
Core elements:
- Visibility graph - the percentage of AI responses mentioning each brand over time
- Competitor Ranking - your visibility, sentiment, and share of voice compared to competitors
- Domains and Sources - the websites and pages AI search engines reference in their answers
This gives you a clear view of where your brand appears in AI search and how you compare to competitors across your tracked prompts.
Use the filters at the top of the Dashboard to refine your view by topic, location, AI model, date range, or competitors, and save your favorite filters as Presets.
Optional: Set Up Crawler Tracking
To see when AI bots visit your website:
- Go to AI Search → Crawler Logs
- Click Setup Instructions
- Copy your Domain ID
- Follow the instructions for your platform (Cloudflare, custom server, or Vercel and Netlify coming soon)
Crawler tracking is optional but highly recommended. It shows you when ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI search engines fetch content from your site in real time.
