Brand Alignment: statement verdicts

POST /v1/brands/:brand_id/alignment/answers/:answer_id/statement-verdicts

Access is limited to the brands permitted by your credential. Requires write:alignment. Workspace API keys and signed-in MCP sessions are supported.

Writes require an active workspace entitlement and an Idempotency-Key header. Support memberships cannot write.

Corrects how Asky read statements of one answer against a fact, when Asky’s reading is wrong. An answer’s outcome on a fact follows from its statements: contradicted when one statement contradicts the fact, aligned when one aligns and none contradicts, otherwise it is left out of your rates. A correction counts everywhere the answer does: outcome rates, facts, trends, sources and exports. Asky’s own reading is kept, and a verdict of null returns the statement to it. A correction follows the answer into every scan that reuses it.

Only statements Asky read as taking a position on the fact can be corrected. An answer to a scan question that did not recognize the brand (Unresolved identity) is judged by Asky as a whole until your team marks it recognized with answer recognition. Its statements Asky read as uncertain can then be corrected too.

Request body

Only the fields below are accepted. Brand and answer identifiers in the URL cannot be overridden in the body.

FieldRequiredDescription
correctionsYesThe statements to correct, 1 to 50, all in this answer. Each is { "statement_id", "fact_id", "verdict" }, and each statement and fact may appear once.
corrections[].statement_idYesThe statement, by its statement_id in the scan. The answer endpoint lists every statement’s.
corrections[].fact_idYesThe fact the statement was read against.
corrections[].verdictYesaligned (states the fact correctly), contradicted (conflicts with it), or not_about_fact (takes no position on it). null returns the statement to Asky’s reading.
scan_idNoThe scan the answer is in. Defaults to the latest finished scan.
noteNoWhy your team corrected them, kept with each correction (up to 500 characters).

Response

The standard API envelope places the answer’s outcome and Asky’s own assessment, each fact’s verdict (outcome, automatic_outcome, corrected_statements), the statements changed (statement_id, fact_id, from, to, asky, as stances) and a url to the answer on the Brand Alignment page in data, with request_id beside it at the top level.

Answer identifiers come from the answers endpoint. A request that changes nothing, because every statement already reads that way, is refused.
