Brand Knowledge
Brand Knowledge is your private library of reference material. Add the documents that capture how your brand sounds and what only you know, then bring them into any content workflow so each piece is written with your own context, not generic web knowledge.
Brand Knowledge is available on the Scale plan and above.
Accessing Brand Knowledge
Go to Knowledge Base → Brand Knowledge in the sidebar.
What to Add
Anything that helps Asky write like you and reference your real expertise works well here:
- Voice and style guides so your content sounds on-brand
- Customer and audience profiles so it speaks to the right reader
- Product specs and positioning so it describes what you do accurately
- Case-study results and proprietary data so it can reference your own facts and figures
- Internal wikis and reference notes that capture knowledge only your team has
Adding a Document
You can add knowledge two ways: paste or write the text directly, or upload a PDF. Both are read and prepared the same way, and both become available in your content workflows.
Click Add Document
Give the document a clear Title, and optionally fill in How should Asky use this? so Asky knows how to apply it (for example, “Brand voice handbook, apply across every article”).
Add Your Content
Choose how to bring it in:
- Paste text: paste or write the content directly. Markdown, plain text, or formatted text all work, and tables and headings are preserved.
- Upload a PDF: drag in a PDF or choose a file. Asky reads it and uses its content when writing, preserving tables and headings. The original file stays available to download.
Let Asky Prepare It
Asky reads and prepares the document in the background. Its status moves from Processing to Ready when it is available to use.
PDFs can be up to 25 MB and 200 pages. For longer material, split it into separate documents.

| Out of sync | You edited the document after it was prepared. Re-sync to apply your changes |
| Failed | Something went wrong. Open the document to retry or re-sync it |
Using Brand Knowledge in Content
Once a document is ready, it becomes available in the Add Your Brand Context step of the content workflow. Choose which documents to include for each piece, so the right context shapes the right article. Content written with Brand Knowledge sounds more like you and can reference your proprietary facts, which is exactly what helps AI search engines cite you as a source.
Keeping Documents Current
Open any document to review it or edit its description. For pasted documents you can also edit the content, then use Re-sync so your changes are reflected the next time you generate content. For uploaded PDFs, the original file stays available to Download, and you can retry processing if it ever fails. Remove a document at any time if it is no longer relevant.
You decide which documents enter each piece of content. Nothing is used unless you select it in the workflow.
