Brand Alignment: answer recognition

POST /v1/brands/:brand_id/alignment/answers/:answer_id/recognition

Access is limited to the brands permitted by your credential. Requires write:alignment. Workspace API keys and signed-in MCP sessions are supported.

Writes require an active workspace entitlement and an Idempotency-Key header. Support memberships cannot write.

Marks that an answer Asky judged Unresolved identity did recognize your brand, when Asky got that wrong. Asky judges such an answer, where the AI did not recognize your brand or confused it with another company of the same name, as a whole. Once marked, it counts from its statements as any other answer does: contradicted when one statement contradicts the fact, aligned when one aligns and none contradicts, otherwise it is left out of your rates.

Asky reads a statement it thinks is about another company as uncertain, so a marked answer usually needs its statements judged. Pass their verdicts in corrections: the mark and the verdicts are written together. You can also judge them later with statement verdicts. The mark counts everywhere the answer does and follows the answer into every scan that reuses it. Asky’s own reading is kept. recognized: false returns the answer to it, with the statement corrections only the mark allowed.

Only the answer to a scan question can be marked, and only one that Asky judged Unresolved identity.

Only the fields below are accepted. Brand and answer identifiers in the URL cannot be overridden in the body.

Response

The standard API envelope places the following in data, with request_id beside it at the top level:

  • changed: whether the mark changed.
  • recognition and automatic_recognition: recognized, unknown or misidentified; the second is Asky’s.
  • outcome and automatic_outcome: the answer’s outcome as counted, and Asky’s own assessment.
  • Each fact’s verdict, with recognition_corrected.
  • changed_statements: statement_id, fact_id, from, to, asky.
  • cleared_statements: the corrections that went with a removed mark.
  • url: the answer on the Brand Alignment page.

Answer identifiers come from the answers endpoint, where Unresolved identity answers have the outcome identity. A request that changes nothing is refused.
